Teach for China (TFC) is the first and only organization to pair outstanding graduates from top universities in the US and China in a long-term service initiative.

Our Model for Sino-US Cooperation

“Today virtually no global challenge can be solved without the United States and China cooperating… I believe strongly that cooperation must go beyond our government; it must be rooted in our people… And I’m absolutely confident that America has no better ambassadors to offer than our young people. For they, just like [Chinese youth], are filled with talent and energy and optimism about the history that is yet to be written.”

President Barack Obama, November 2009, from the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue

"There is no doubt that this unprecedented undertaking to build a new China-U.S. partnership is ground-breaking and it cannot be smooth all the way. Through practice, we can see that this is the only and inevitable way it can be done."

State Councilor Dai Bingguo, May 2010, from the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue

At Teach for China, we know that the greatest challenges of the 21st century can only be solved through coordinated global action. Meaningful cooperation and profound cultural respect between leaders from China and the US will be central in shaping the international response to global problems for years to come.

For this reason, Teach for China is the first organization committed to partnering young leaders from both China and the US in a long-term service initiative. As these Chinese and American Fellows work together – to discuss classroom management, design lesson plans, share student progress, and inspire students – they are developing new solutions to the crisis of education inequity in China. In the long-term, Teach For China Fellows are pioneering a cross-cultural approach to addressing global challenges that will serve as a model in Sino-US bilateral relations.
